Job Title: IT Officer

Location: Lagos

 

 

Responsibilities

• Take charge of ICT related information within and outside the company.
• Collecting data, organizing it and managing it.
• Developing computer databases and setting them up. This includes writing precise instructions  for the computer to collect and sort out relevant data
• Ensuring that computer systems and databases works as well as they should. This is known as database performance tuning.
• Ensure back up for data is made on a regular basis in case data gets lost or destroyed
• Recovering lost computer data or data which has been corrupted
• Ensuring the integrity and security of any collected data. Unauthorized individuals should not be able to access the data including hacking into the system.
• Overseeing and controlling data resources
• Ensuring that the required data is always available to those who need it so that the right person can always find the right data when they need it. The data should be presented in a way that the users can understand
• Discussing with individual staff members who work on the computers what the problems is in order to figure out how to help solve the problem. Individual assessments of computer systems to identify the problem(s)
• Help in examination of network servers equipment and maintenance
• Maintenance of networking system
• Maintenance and upgrading of computer systems or offering recommendations on upgrades needed
• Networking and connecting computers within the organization to enhance communication
• Training staff and orienting them on how to use computer hardware and software systems
• Troubleshooting routine problems and maintenance of servers
• Responsible for ordering or buying of computer systems that are required or alternatively, working in close liaison with the administration department. This is after carefully assessing the computer needs in the organization
• Maintaining other computer peripheral devices such as printers and solving printing problems if they arise
• Carrying out other duties as you may be requested by management

 

 

Academic/Educational Requirements

B.sc/HND in computer science or related field

 

 

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must have great communication skills (written & verbal) and good interpersonal skills.
• Sound knowledge of IT.
• Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks.
